| - Came here after dinner before a show my friend and I had to go to later in the night. This happened to be next door to Ramen Hashi we had dinner at and a friend was at this place as well (someone being a stalker and telling us hes next door.... Lol)
Lots of new places are popping up recently and this is one of them. Located in the same center as the widely known Hobak KBBQ, the newly opened Ramen Hashi, soon to be another korean place next to Hobak, this is becoming quite the busy plaza.
Before entering the shop, we saw the banner of Buy 1 Get 1 free, which was almost the reason why we walked in to get a drink. Unfortunately, we found out while ordering that it didn't start til Saturday. We were 2 days early.
I am one to love the flavor of tea and prefer for it to be strong. Being mildly overwhelmed with their menu size, i asked the cashier what their "strongest tea" was, who listed Oolong Tea Latte being one she recommended. I ordered a regular sized Oolong Tea Latte at 50% sweetness with no boba, and my friend ordered a regular sized Oolong Tea Latte at 33% sweetness. (I feel like they are the first establishment to offer sweetness in 1/3s.. Lol After waiting a few minutes, chatting with the so called friend who was stalking us, we had received our drinks. First thing i noticed.... the drink was tasteless. Very bland. Yeah i asked for 50% sweet but dang. Little to no tea flavor. I'd say this drink was closer to water than it was closer to milk tea, especially oolong. I tried my friend's tea as well to see how the boba was, and that was pretty bland as well. No sweetness to the boba. It is moderately chewy, which was nice but thats about it.
The staff is very friendly, even with a familiar face behind the counter/in the kitchen (friend from college), which awarded them the 2nd star. Otherwise, 1 star for their teas. Most likely won't be coming back any time soon, even if it is the nearest one. Their prices are fairly average, if not a bit higher in some aspects than others. I've seen this brand in other cities before and had expected much more. Heard rumors they expect to open a few more locations in the city soon. Almost hoping they won't....
