American Express (Amex)s a new "player" in the market of airport lounges. But I have to say they doing ok. Of course the name set the expectation very high. It's not a Platinum Lounge, it is the Centurion Lounge the Centurion Card is the highest Card Amex is giving out to high end "members" strictly by invitation only. So I was expecting very, very high class lounges. And as i said they doing ok. If you know the British Airways First Class Lounge in London Heathrow (ConcordLounge) then this is what i compare it to. And it is about the same level, good food, nice surrounding and design, quiet. Not so big as the Concord Lounge but that's good, cause sometimes it is just to crowded in British Airways reference Lounge.
So why only doing ok, and why "just" four stars? Well as I said the expectation have been high, I was not exactly disappointed (maybe a tidbit) but since it is not better then the concord that is what i will rank this lounge. Don't get me wrong it is a great lounge, and would it been called platinum lounge i probably would have given five stars :)
And of course, they also can work on it and earn the last star! For a very first footstep into a complete different market then giving credit-cards out to people it is a very honorable Ian's successful step!
