| - This performance was at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle. It got off to a strange start with some new music accompanied by lots of stock NASA footage playing on screen, followed by an odd video from Chip Davis where shared that an observatory was one his places he'd go for inspiration. He then "beamed out" and the show began.
What became obvious very quickly was that the entire show was more or less, recycled. Yes there were live performers, but a huge video screen behind the orchestra was a focus point and would be splattered with cheesy animations, old music videos. There were some attempts to engage, such as when the "conductor" and guitarists did a little vocal for Good King Wenceslas, and of course the keyboardist loved to turn her head and smile at the crowd.
Mr. Davis' daughter delivered a wonderful version of Greensleeves, unfortunately it was through a years old video, and again simply plastered on the screen behind the group. You can find the video on youtube.
All this would have been fine for $20 ticket at Hill Auditorium, but even for a Seattle crowd I'm sure many folks were bewildered. If they had any doubts that they'd just been ripped off, it should have become obvious when two more Chip Davis videos appeared hawking his new "products," which he noted were conveniently available in the lobby at intermission.
