| - I LOVE this place! The location is perfect for sightseeing, it was easy to find from the airport and for $159 per night, it's a steal for what you get.
To start with, the rooms are HUGE! We had a full kitchen with microwave, pots, pans, glasses, coffee maker, full size refrigerator, dishes and silverware, a big living room with a sectional sofa, coffee table and TV, desk, comfy chair, and a separate bedroom with a large closet, super comfy bed, full size dresser, large vanity with so-so lighting and another TV. The bathroom was surprisingly small though for such a big room but the shower was nice with good water pressure and plenty of hot water.
Check in was easy, the staff was super friendly and helpful and I loved the little store in the lobby with everything from (good) wine, water, juice, muffins, candy, chips, ice cream and even frozen dinners. The underground parking area was a little scary getting in and out of but the sitting area just inside the parking garage entrance was greatly appreciated. We could sit and wait inside where it was warm while my brother in law went for the car!
Breakfast on the 2nd floor was included in our room rate and was fairly good for a hotel buffet. Coffee, juice, milk, cereal, scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, french toast, bagels, toast, muffins, yogurt and fruit, along with do it yourself waffles...I certainly can't (and won't) complain!
Obviously being in such an old building, this hotel could use a few cosmetic touch ups but it was clean and we enjoyed the Victorian architecture and old school feel of the place.
The arcade between the 2 wings of the hotel was pretty much a ghost town, with most of the shops and galleries gone or closed during remodeling so I can't really cite that as a cool feature but it made for an easy shortcut on our way back from a walk, lol.
