| - I'm updating my previous post with my follow up visit to LVCS. As previously mentioned, we agreed to do a complete system install after the alarm project for an agreed upon price by both parties. It's not surprising to have a customer come back for different projects, right? I brought in my truck with the agreed upon system components--speakers, sub, amps, HU, rear view camera, harnesses. The only thing I did not provide were the speaker wires and amp wiring kit because Alex stated he would include it in the install price. Cool. When I brought everything in, Alex and the random non-English speaking installer suddenly suffered amnesia and quoted 320, then 400, then 500 (double the original price) within a span of 10 minutes. Alex said there was confusion and miscommunication with me on the phone and our previous interactions that resulted in the price difference.
I don't believe For a second that there was miscommunication. I called Alex three times to confirm the install project, confirming the parts and labor costs. THREE times. I also spoke to him in person about it and there were no problems, conveniently when I was paying him for the prior job.
This is a shop trying to pull a fast one. Get a no-nonsense invoice. Better yet, take your business elsewhere where they don't play games.
