  • Imagine going to the Louvre, and not finding the Mona Lisa or the Venus de Milo! That's how we felt at the McMichael collection today. They've totally packed away their core of Group of Seven, Tom Thomson, Emily Carr, and Inuit sculptures. In their places, are two big shows of Annie Pootoogook and Alex Janvier. Both are nice and original. But they sure could have found away to keep in their core greats. We took two out-of-towners today, extollling the core, and had to disappoint them. And there's no warning on their website. Plus their Aura restaurant has become awful. Go to see Anne and Alex, but don't expect anything else.
