I came in today to pick up cat food and litter. I had a PetSmart card and gave it to the cashier, and she said it "isn't good anymore. What's your phone number or email address?" I asked why the card wasn't good, and she said she had no idea, but she needed my phone number and email, and then she asked my name to get me signed up again! I gave her the number and name but declined the email address.
This is wrong on so many levels. Why is the customer obligated to repeat their private information vocally in a store at a register? Is privacy not a concern? Stolen identity not a concern? Guess not.
Isn't that the point of signing up for the key tag card so you don't have to expose that to everyone?
I do not feel comfortable having to provide any private information in order to save so little.
I won't be back. PETCO HERE I COME!
