  • I like dive bars and I like Blue Dog as a dive bar. I came here for a university event tonight and the DJ was good, despite being a little dated. The only thing I hated was when I accidentally paid my bartender double for a round of shots (she said $8, I thought she meant $8 each and didn't realize my mistake until after I'd given her $16 and promised to return with a tip) and she lied to my face about how much I'd paid ("You gave me like $10, so don't worry about a tip."). Would've worked if I'd been drunk, but I wasn't and I don't appreciate being lied to. Still, I'm not going to make a fuss in public. I ordered another round of shots to mask my annoyance, which I paid the correct price for, and then high tailed it out of there. I can stomach giving a 100% tip by mistake, that's my fault, but don't lie to me about it. Would have given 5 stars if the bartender had offered my correct change back.
