As I went through the casino, I heard a familiar yet elusive sound which puzzled me for a moment. Then I remembered - it's the sound of coins dropping out of slots and being shaken around in plastic tubs. Of the the albeit limited number of casinos I visited while I was in Las Vegas, this was the only one at which I experienced this. I saw that the casino and hotel were celebrating a 40th anniversary, and while some parts of the casino have been renovated, other parts still reflect that 70s style. I actually found it to be a bit charming and nostalgic. It's also a lot more relaxed, being a block off the Fremont Street experience, and that extended to the staff here. I'm probably not the typical patron of this casino, but I found my experience here to be quite enjoyable. I'll definitely come back here the next time I'm in Vegas.
