  • This by far was my worst dining experience since moving to Las Vegas/Henderson 3 years ago. First of all I know Jewish Deli's. Living in LA I've been to the best. Nate n Als, Brents, Canters and Juniors. Factors and Solleys too. This place Weiss' in Henderson is below average at best, but I went there because it was the only place around with jewish plates like Matzoh Ball Soup and Potato Latkes. The chef/owner Michael Weiss' ego couldn't fathom that his Brisket of Beef was dry and I ordered something else. Which I happily paid for. He didn't want to take it off the bill, but did after complaining for a while to the waiter in the kitchen. It was so obvious he was offended, that I became offended that he would question my taste. I actually got up from the booth and walked to the kitchen window... (since I could hear everything he was whining about) and told him the brisket wasnt good. I let him know who I was and where I worked by throwing my very Jewish named business card next to his hand. He finally took it off. On my way out I asked the young waiter if the guy in the kitchen was the owner. He said yes, and said that's why he was offended. He also told me my "demeanor" wasnt very good and I handled the situation wrong... Who the hell is he? Gordon Ramsey? What nerve to tell off a customer twice his age. Let alone anybody. I am assuming he's the son because he was very rude and defensive. I then walked to the table and took back his 25 % tip. He told me not to come back in. REALLY??? Because I wanted to come back for dinner. Darn it! A food critic I know who was interviewing me this week anyway got a call early. She then called Mr. Weiss for reaction. In a nutshell he told me and her to F-off. He says the RJ food critic Heidi Rinella once skewered his pastrami in a review... and that he sold more Pastrami after that then ever. He says any publicity is good publicity. Have you noticed that people who offer crappy service and a bad product are the only ones who use that phrase? If you like a bunch of cheap and pompous asses serving you mediocre food....then YES I hope I can help direct business to the restaurant.
