  • Long, long ago, I used to come to Yorkdale, when I lived off Avenue Road and could count my age in single digits. I've been back a couple of times recently, and hardly recognize the place. And it's not just because the Simpsons is gone (remember Simpsons, anyone? Anyone?). Yorkdale now looks like it's on steroids. All the stores have been overhauled into big, two-storey monstrosities, and have spilled out onto the façade in accordance with the current trend of mall design. The interior is very big, but lacks any cohesive plan; all the box stores just jut out willy-nilly. I don't think it's a good mall for strolling around.
