  • This is more of a Uhaul review than a review of this location. The employees here were polite and efficient. I had a 7:15 a.m. appointment for a trailer pickup. I arrived early at 7:00 a.m. and was on the road at 7:25. No complaints there and i assure you've I've had much worse experiences at large Uhaul depots. But Uhaul, including some of what I was told the morning I picked up my trailer, is a logistical mess and if they weren't essentially a monopoly on consumer trailer rental they'd be out of business. I use Penske now for trucks. Of course I made an online reservation. I was called the day or so before and told the only location available was Nellis, about 20 minutes from my house. Frustrating but I expected it. Regardless, DON'T MAKE RESERVATIONS YOU CAN'T KEEP. This is a logistics failure in my opinion. How can they not know where their equipment is and will be with some degree of certainty? I'm sure drop-in customers, late returns, missed reservations, and equipment repair all add up to frustrate perfect tracking but I suspect they could do better. On to annoyance two. As this is a one-way rental I need a different drop-off location. When I spoke to the gentleman on the phone who was changing my location (see annoyance one, above), I asked where I could drop off and he said when I picked up my trailer we could come up with a location for drop off. Okay, fair enough. But when I showed up to pick up my trailer and asked where I need to drop it off the Nellis employee said, essentially, "you can drop off at any location so long as they have space, for example not every location could take a 26-foot truck." This is a medium trailer so I didn't think it would be an issue dropping off literally around one corner from my destination where they store a moderate amount of equipment on a huge gravel lot. Then come annoyance three. After being told twice how easy drop off would be I got a text and email "confirming our conversation" about agreeing to a drop-off location 12 miles from my destination. I never had that conversation and never would have agreed. So $150 later I have my trailer and will end up driving about 50 miles out of my way when there are uhaul locations within one mile of both my origin and destination. That's another $12 in gas. I'm not even crying about that, it's a necessary evil I suppose in order to do business with Uhaul. However, the string of half-truths along the way which I can only assume are meant to avoid losing sales until you're roped in are unacceptable. Long story short, insist on picking a drop-off location before signing on the dotted line. I just really wish people wouldn't lie to me. It sours my opinion of businesses for no reason.
