Saw this next door to Kabuto when we went for dinner and wanted to try it out! We came the next day for an early dinner before going to the airport. Neither of us were too hungry so we got the #1 most popular dish - uni tomato cream linguini ($26) - to share.
Service was impeccable and the ambiance of the small restaurant was cozy and homey. Really lovely.
Freshly baked butter rolls will be served after you order. They're quite delicious with some really good butter.
The pasta came relatively quickly as the restaurant was pretty empty. Portion size was pretty good considering it's uni. I really liked it. The uni was rich and creamy, more sweet than briny. There weren't too many chunks of uni, as to be expected, but if you do get one with a bite of pasta, it's heavenly.
The cream sauce is on the heavier side, so if you're eating it on your own, get a starter salad or come hungry.
Japanese-style Italian is pretty new in the States so it might take some getting used to. But Nakamura-ya is a great place to go to try it out!
