| - Worst Check-In Experience, Poor Customer Service!
We stayed at the Flamingo from 12/24 to 12/28/2017. Upon arrival on 12/24, we were greeted by the longest line I had ever seen to check into any Las Vegas hotel. Very few staff working the desk and all of the automated kiosks were off-line. After the 45 minute wait, we got to our room to discover it was not a "strip view" as we had pre-paid for. When we contacted the front desk, we were told that strip view is a preference and not a guarantee and there was nothing the management of the Flamingo would do. We had made our booking through Vegas.com and had an email CLEARLY stating we had paid for a strip view and still no help from the front desk.
After giving up on receiving the room we had paid for, we headed down the Paradise Garden Buffet at the Flamingo which was CLOSED at 8:05 PM! A buffet in Las Vegas closed at 8PM??? Unfortunately, there was nothing indicating that the restaurant was closed and we made the mistake of walking in. As we approached the hostess and cash register, we were literally yelled at by the staff and told to leave!!!
My family visits Las Vegas a couple of times a year and I have never felt so disregarded and not valued as a customer in any Las Vegas hotel before. I will never book the Flamingo again and will not recommend the Flamingo to any of my family members or my business colleagues.
The only reasons I give two stars instead of one are the following:
1. The location of the Flamingo is great. It is very close to the High Roller, the LINQ, and other attractions, but I'd suggest staying at the Cosmopolitan or the Bellagio. We had much better experiences at both hotels.
2. During the second day of our visit, we were able to contact Vegas.com and they got my family relocated to the room we HAD ALREADY PAID for several weeks ago. We were also given a 30 dollar meal credit for our troubles, but at that point, I felt it was too little too late.
