  • I went to Kirk's Sports Grill for the first time with my boyfriend during the weekday. When we initially walked in, there was an awful, musky smell to the place. We sat at a booth for nearly 15 minutes waiting for someone to provide us a menu or ask if we wanted a drink. There was no one behind the bar either. Finally a waitress appears from what I believe to be the bathrooms and goes directly to the bar with no regard to myself or my boyfriend. I then went up to the bar to ask for drinks and a menu. The bartender (I believe her name was Chantel?) came off as being rude like I was bothering her and then said that she was the only one there and that the kitchen was closed. Needless to say, my boyfriend and I were disappointed and will not be returning. After our one drink, we left Kirk's and went across the parking lot to the little Italian restaurant for food and the food was good there and the staff was awesome. So, my recommendation is if you're in downtown Mesa and looking to go to a bar, avoid going to Kirk's Sports Grill.
