I ate here a few days ago and I need to admit, the food was great. It was a friend's birthday so I expected to blow it out. I regularly eat at higher end restaurants so I expected it would be somewhat expensive since its in the W hotel. To start I must say, the food was all delicious although the portions seemed smaller than typical for sushi restaurants. We were suggested by our waitress that" usually" she picks the menu based on a few questions she had for us. Of course you know in that situation it's going to be more expensive. We ate had sake and beer and it was great, until we all said we were done. Our waitress dropped off another dish and said she had already put the order in before we told her we were full. Of course we said it was fine. Then 10 minutes later another dish shows up. At that point we objected sending it back.
I think we were all surprised when our bill was just under $800 for the 5 of us.
Maybe I'm just out of touch with high priced places but that's just too much for what we had. Of course we paid and took care of our waitress but I don't see a return trip anytime soon. I think I'll just go to the French Laundry in Yountville, CA next time.
