I have brought family out here for years. It keeps growing and improving. This visit was for the white rhinos. My granddaughter and I rode the safari tram. Don't miss this. It is better than watching national geographic specials on TV. You are up close to these interesting animals. If you are lucky, you will get Ron as your very knowledgeable driver. He had an ostrich egg that he picked up this morning for all of us to hold and examine. We learned that the eggs are basically for food since they have no male ostrich. My granddaughter LOVED holding that egg! As we drove through the electronic gates to the new white rhino acres, Ron pointed out all the animals, their babies and fun facts. Just one of the fascinating facts he told was that the wildebeest actually have poor eyesight and when they begin their migration, they team up with zebras who have very good eyesight. He said scientists are studying the wildebeest who have been known to use swarm intelligence which helps them to overcome obstacles in their migration. Ron went on and on with his entertaining education. We thoroughly enjoyed this ride. Go and know that part of your ticket pays for the preservation of some at-risk animals. It is a wonderful and fun experience for all !
