Joe came out and gave me a quote on mounting two tvs, a new receiver and speakers. I gave him a budget, and he sent me a quote that was much higher than the budget I had stated. He said that whatever he sent me would be negotiable and that we could discuss other options if I didn't like the price. When I looked at the equipment he specified, I found that I could buy most of it for 30% cheaper on Amazon than what he quoted. I replied to him with this information and wrote, "I can appreciate that you might have some markup in these items...perhaps that's where the offset for the accessories at cost and the labor package discount comes into play. Let me know your thoughts and if we can get closer to my budget without sacrificing quality by purchasing as I've suggested here."
I never heard back from Joe.
While Joe may be great at what he does, I came away with the feeling that he is an audiophile who is more interested in selling high end solutions than servicing someone on a budget who is more interested in functionality. How else can I explain him never getting back to me?
