  • We got off to a rocky start ..Upon check in the front deskl said ok we have you booked through the 26th...Dad booked us from 22cnd through 28th back in August. The manager came out and wasn't much help.Said they would review the calls.Possbly could put us at another property if they had to. To be clear, we planned this for months and arrived on husband's birthday, followed by our wedding anniversary and of course Thanksgiving. We had no choice but to select our room that was offered and hope for a favorable resoloution regarding our reservation. We really were impressed with our room.We got tower 5 room 5807 which is the Bora Bora model. It was large, well decorated, and a complete kitchen, washer ,dryer ,steam shower and jacuzzi tub.2 large televisions and a bumping stereo. We had a view of the strip and lazy river. All you need is food and clothes. The only negative about the room was the air blowing on our faces all night we never could shut it off..Also the non stop airplane noise we also are in direct landing and take off zone of the airport and have a view of all the coming and going. We unpacked and settled in..since we were hungry we decided to eat at Booze n Bites.Food was meh, same with service, and everything overpriced. They also automatically tack on a 20 percent gratuity charge which we almost double tipped them. This is ridiculous and a turn off.We did what many do,try it once and Never return. Concierge was helpful and offered some show tickets, dinner, and coupons galore, and discounts off spa services in exchange for attending the sales pitch for buying a timeshare. We said ok. Our dad owns timeshare and let's us use it when he cannot,so no need for us to buy and we told them so.No problem they said, come anyway. We signed up. WE got a couples massage at Mahana Spa for $25 and we bought 2 Matt Franco tickets. We had already bought Carrot Top and KA tickets .Turned out the Matt Franco tickets fell.through ,he sold out and we were bumped .They gave us Jan Rouven tickets instead and refunded our $90 Matt Franco tix.Mahana Spa provided a relaxing massage, just a feel good experience. DID not wipe excess oil off afterward with a hot towel which was only thing I did not care for. The pools and lazy river were beautiful but it was cold so we loved the adult only hot tub,yet somehow each time some adult brought their kid in. We did not bbq or cook, but everything is in place to do so.Bbq areas are nice, and the Tahiti Village cats like to hang out waiting for a scrap or 2.The store is a half mile hike away along with lots of off strip restaurant options.WE ordered dinner in twice, once from Chinese A Go Go which was wonderful. HAD a pizza that can't remember where from...note you must go down and pick up your orders at front desk which is a 5 minute hike from your room. They do not allow deliveries to rooms whether food or flowers. THEY also do not clean rooms on allow daily basis unless you pay additional fees.We just placed garbage outside door and asked for towels and to and toiletries ,coffee, as needed. They were quick to bring us whatever we asked. Shuttle service is free ,runs every half hour to Tropicana and Mirage.Cabs are outside Dennys next door. You can connect to free tram from Tropicana to Mandalay Bay and Luxor. The Mirage also has a free tram that runs .The mono rail is not free but heads north out of MGM . They also offer grocery runs at 8 am on assigned days, and Red Rock tour which we enjoyed despite 60 mph winds. They do Fremont Street Experience also and we had had a good time with that. They offer another expedition to some local shops and movie theater on Fridays as well. After 2 days of wondering if we would be homeless on Thanksgiving, and after 4 phone calls from us to management and Dad calling 4 times, they extended our stay and we were able to enjoy our vacation and remain in our orginal room which was highly positive. The timeshare sales pitch was fairly low key.Prices are jaw droppingly expensive ...then drop quickly when you don't bite.Sales lady said she never heard the jet noise which was bizarre as she had to stop speaking as one roared over head by the pool. Its 2 hours long they try and close 3 times then give up after the 3rd No thank you. The wiki store is ok,helpful staff, but grossly overpriced.Skip it and go shopping half a.mile down the road. You will save a lot of money that way. Personally we prefer more service...room delivery, room cleaning, but overall enjoyed our room at Tahiti village and after 4 days had the trams shuttles, and stores figured out.
