  • All I can say is do not waste an evening or your money taking this tour. I could not find any recent tour goer reviews online before taking this outing and now I know why, there was no forum where to leave a review and once you read mine, you'll know the rest of the story... Our group met outside the Orpheum Theatre where we were asked to sit and listen to the guide (Joe) speak about the history of the theatre as well as downtown Phoenix for about 10 -15 minutes of the hour long tour. He spent a lot of time talking about the Orpheum and the tours they gave there and how great the theatre is which is not exactly why I or anyone else signed up for this tour! We were told about a ghost in the Orpheum building, etc... and some retold stories given by our guide of those who claimed to have eyewitness accounts of the ghost. The entire tour was comprised of then walking down the city streets and stopping outside of various buildings while Joe spoke about the buildings we were standing outside of and looking up at. It became evident after stopping at 3 buildings that the tour was going to be very redundant. Walk a little, stop, glance up at the building and hear a story about how someone was killed, committed suicide, died of some illness or disease and now is thought to possibly haunt the building. This same story was told over and over again throughout the 1 hour tour. We had a party of 3 with our group who had been on many, many ghost tours and they all about fell asleep making the walk around downtown as it was well, very boring. I found myself yawning and being more interested in the other people walking around downtown than the tour or its content and could not wait for it to be over! There was truly nothing to look at, no pictures or written literature handed out and we never actually went into a building. There was certainly no need for a camera as there was absolutely nothing to take a picture of as it related to the "ghost tour". I'd say if your interested in the ghosts and history of downtown Phoenix, go purchase a book and read it while staying the night at the San Carlos Hotel, you'll get more bang for your buck and more entertainment. Sorry, as much as I'd love to support the small business owner here in Phoenix, this was a real let down.
