Checked in today! Beautiful and fun amazing room.
Four stars for day one. Most stars are for the amazing room and view!!! Unbelievably beautiful. Upgraded from Terrace Studio to Angle Terrace Studio. Glad we did. Two full bathrooms. Kitchenette. Sitting area with TV. King Bed with TV. Large terrace with an amazing view of the strip and the Bellagio fountains.
3 stars for the valet bell service area. Took a long time for our poor valet to find a bell hop.... But all were friendly. Valet was complementary... So add a another star for that.
We're Marriott Rewards Members Gold Elite. The Cosmopolitan doesn't honor the benefits as advertised on the Rewards Details site. I think that's fine given the high cost of the area, but it bothers me that you are expecting this and find yourself disappointed when you get here and find out. The main thing that I found upsetting was that they DO honor the benefits for Platinum Members. Why honor the benefits for one but not the other? Again, it'd be better if we were not expecting what was outlined on the rewards.
What we did receive as gold members was access to the concierge VIP check in, juice and coffee (also in that lounge) in the morning, enhanced wifi. No upgrade was available but they did check and we would have received that if available. What they don't honor is the concierge lounge access or breakfast or points. They don't have a concierge lounge. Only platinum members receive a ten dollar credit for breakfast. Again, they should mention their exception on the rewards website.
The counter clerk was a little young and tended to mumble and appear a little disinterested. The bell hops were slow but very nice.
The room is the star. The balconies are a rare treasure for smokers. That's day one.... We'll see how the week goes.
