| - Ohio city now has a boutique grocery convenience store! Well, I guess you could call The Market at The Fig a boutique grocery too, but the focus of each place is different. Here, the focus is local and organic as much as possible. Since it's mid-winter, that means the selection might seem a little slim. But that's not a bad thing. I don't mind a focused shopping experience. Plus, they have some really great options in the frozen and refrigerated cases.
This place is small, and that's why I'm calling it a convenience store. There's no isles... it's just a room. That's also not a bad thing. Everything is in front of you and there's no chance of missing what you need. Especially since that means I won't miss the Randy's Pickles (seriously, stop in and get the best pickles ever). The size also means you get positive and super friendly attention from the staff.
Don't miss out on the pour-over coffees and the fresh-made lunches. The sandwiches look really good. Since bread makes me sick, I couldn't try one, but you should try one on my behalf. Especially since the bread they offer for sale and in the sandwiches is fresh baked from Stone Oven. Back when I ate bread, that was some of the best around.
All-in-all, this was a positive stop for some quick fresh veggies, the best pickles, and a couple frozen items. It's worth checking out. I'll be back for sure.
