I'm a bit saddened to be writing this review and scoring Citizens a 2. We've been coming to Citizens now for quite some time. We visit Vegas about 3-4 times per year, most times staying at Delano. We've sometimes had breakfast, lunch, and dinner here in a single day just because we know we could always get a super solid meal no matter the time of day or night, even late late night since it's 24 hours. A few weekends ago we were here and were so incredibly disappointed with the Ruben. It tasted like minced meat. Like as if we got the last of the. corned beef shavings. The fries were tasteless and cold. Last weekend when we were here in Vegas, we passed. We are back again this weekend and thought we'd give it a go HOPING it was a "one-off" a few weeks ago. Nope. We were sadly disappointed. Tonight we had a tuna melt and fries along with chicken noodle soup. The sandwich was decent. The chicken noodle soup is $11! Yep. It's a lot right? But in the past...SO worth the $11!! Tonight I just couldn't do it. I couldn't eat it. I suggested to our server that I was given some sort of beef broth type soup. She insisted it was chicken noodle. There's NO way what was served was chicken and chicken noodle soup at that. She said it was dark meat. If it was it had a beefy taste and the broth tasted like beef and the broth was brown. I couldn't pay $11 to not eat it.
I guess we'll have to find a new fave. We're super sad about it. It's just too expensive for it not to be good.
So why a 1 star rating? Decent size portions - but only matters if the food is good. Nice atmosphere. Can hear the live music from the bar. And hubs does love the $25 Bloody Mary.
