This Second Cup is peaceful, spacious and clean - which is extremely surprising, considering it's right next door to a McDonalds that houses some of the rowdiest people in the King West area.
I came here to grab a coffee while waiting for friends, and was impressed by how you can actually sit and get some work done in a quiet setting. Granted, this was at 8:30 PM on a Saturday, but the service was extremely prompt, the coffee was hot and the atmosphere was very good, which is basically what I expect out of any coffee shop.
It's not as hipster-ish as some other branches I've been to, but I found it to be a solid experience in general. There's also plenty of amusement - I chuckled when a group of six people attempted to open a side door that was locked. (Obvious joke: how many people does it take to unlock a door?)
If I'm in the area, I'll be back. This is an oasis in the middle of a bar- and restaurant-heavy intersection.
