Wowza what a wonderful experience! Some people just have the artistic vision and skills to cut hair. Going to this learning environment to get a haircut was well worth the risk! !
I have always had long, thick, wavy dark brown hair. Well I'd been thinking of going extremely short for quite some time, and my gut said why not let this be a good learning experience to help build a student hairdresser confidence. To be honest I've had my hair cut by licensed professionals in expensive salons that didn't do a better job. This says alot because I'm not super picky. I know that hair will always grow back :)
Anyhow Sabrina, a senior student at the aveda institute had such confidence and built great rapport with me, I was comfortable from the moment she began. Not once did she look terrified at the task before her (my tons and tons of long hair lol).she cut that ponytail right off and did an amazing job! I loved that her teacher came over every now and then to make some suggestions and offer encouragement and guidance!
Overall the only thing that isn't my favorite is the major push for an upsale of tons of products. But you can always say no, &I understand the concept is to hone in on their skills to make some extra income.
I am going back for another haircut in a few weeks!
