Typical chain pub, a popular after work drink spot for anyone working in the Bloor and Yonge area. I guess Firkins are all about the faux-British decor these days, complete with silly walk decals and pics of the Rolling Stones. It does look pretty nice inside, I will admit, regardless of its authenticity (or lack thereof).
They have daily specials, and a house beer (Butler's) that goes down like water and can be purchased on the cheap.
The food is hit or miss. Like any pub, it all depends on what you order, but generally it's a chain so expect food to be underwhelming for what you pay. I ordered a small mac and cheese once and received maybe a dozen pieces of blandly flavoured macaroni. I'm the easiest person in the world to please and even I felt ripped off. But I returned another day and had a decent fried chicken sandwich. Choose food wisely, but really, you're here because you work nearby and there are only so many pubs you can use to drown your sorrows in on a Friday, right?
