| - Rude. The Bakery and The Deli. EXCEPT for Jason. He's amazing. But, he's not there that often lately. The people, mostly women, he's left behind evidently can't be bothered. They say, "Next" and if the planets are aligned, "Thank You", when they have your money safely in hand and to dismiss you. Basically it's a less rude way to say "Move".
Then there is this.......Don't you dare change your mind, even before they start your order. No changes allowed. The roll of the eyes and the dead silence is your sign you've misbehaved. The Deli counter is the same. Yesterday they ignored me. There was no way they didn't see me standing just on the other side of the glass. The girl had just waited on someone with me standing right there. He left and so did she. I finally said, "can someone help me"?. Evidently other things were more pressing then waiting on me. I ordered 4 pieces of sliced turkey, "for sandwiches". Before I knew it, she was done. At Walmart for half the price they show you the first piece to see if it's the acceptable thickness and usually ask it you want to taste it before you commit. Nope, not here. It was WAY to thick for ME. Then she wanted to argue with me about what constitutes a sandwich slice of turkey. Are you kidding me? She called over a tie breaking employee. When they realized I wasn't conceding after 3 minutes of debate, then they muttered under their breath about the difficult customer. It's 11.00 a pound, I want it correct. When I pay double the price I want double the service. Does that make me unique? I had a 70 year old man friend with our group and he went after me and he finally said, "this is unbelievable". He was referring to the time it took to dish up a egg bake that was sitting right there.
The checkers, meat counter, floral, pizza, liquor and general employees walking around are fine. Not over the top exceptional, although they should be, but fine. Although, I digress, the meat counter is exceptional. I'm not high maintenance, but I am some. Although I'm not apologizing for it. What has kept me coming back with this attitude? It hasn't always been like that. It's been about 2 years. I've been going for 15. I keep hoping for reform I guess. Or for Jason to be working that day. The location is also perfect for me and the choices at the bakery are superior. Just give me a smile and some simple sharing the planet small talk with it and I'll be fine. Also, skip the you're really doing ME a favor attitude. Why? Your not. I'm doing one for you. My presence in the store justifies yours. I'm the customer, bad news, you need me. Please treat me like you do. Even if I say occasionally, "oh wait, I think I'll have the Passion Fruit instead".
