I got an email from Gigi's regarding they had special Banana Split cupcakes for National Banana Split Day! Cool...I thought I'd call in an order of a dozen to bring in to my office. The gal that answered the phone was rude beyond belief. I told her I'd like to order 12 banana split cupcakes for pick-up... her response... "That's all I have...you want to buy all my stock?" Mind you this was 11am in the morning on a day they are participating in a nationwide Gigi's special (kind of...participating that is) I respond "I'd like to bring these back for my office to have a bit of fun with the day"...she said she "needs to count what she has." Ok...she comes back again that she "just has a dozen and do I really want to buy her stock that there won't be more left for others." I responded..."Yes, you are going to sell them to someone, that yes I would like to buy them." She was literally angry with me for purchasing 12 cupcakes....my thought process was...ok...you own a cupcake business, you are running a special flavor to celebrate a day...wouldn't you make more than 12 of that flavor?
To continue the call.... they needed my credit card info and wanted to write it down. I told them I didn't them writing my cc number down and that I'd only give them the card number if they weren't writing it down and if they were running it through as I was on the phone. She said that's fine she can do that. We continue with the transaction. The call ends, and I realize I have not been given a total that is being charged. So..I call back to get the total. And guess what...they are still working on it and have't charged my card yet...which of course means that against my request the gal on the phone wrote down my number.
I get to the store to pick-up my order, and the order looks ok in the store at the quick peek I get. However in transit the tops slide off several of the cupcakes. The box was carried flat and placed on the floor of the car...so there was no sloppy transit going on....seems pretty clear they frosted these while the cupcakes were still warm and there was some melting going on.
I'm really disappointed in my experience. Mainly with the credit card experience and rudeness of the employees. Incredibly bad.
