| - Despite the bad mani pedi review, I figure I'm a very easy going salon client, and there was a buytopia deal ($29 for shellac mani and pedi, usually $95) for Melanger and I figured how bad can a shellac application be, and it's a steal at 30 all in.
The staff was exceptionally nice, and that counts a lot in a salon. The nail technician was quiet, but also quite nice.
The bad part is her process was very sloppy. I do my nails a lot at home, I kind of wish I hadn't wasted nearly 2 hours here.
When she cut me I didn't make a fuss, but that has never ever happened to me, even in the most back alley 3rd world salons. It wouldn't stop bleeding and she didn't apologize, which may be a legal thing, I dunno.
When I asked her to apply some more lacquer to the tips because they were white and not completely covered in polish, she said she had already done that but on my further insistence she obliged. She also didn't do a great job removing my old color, which was black, so I can see it through the color in some places. Also the color is completely different than the bottle, which I can't blame her for she didn't invent it, but she assured me it'd be the right color once she put on the final coat, which was not true. It's a cute color, but I came in for bright red, this was not bright red (see pics). The top coat, btw, is lousy with bubbles and imperfections which I couldn't quite get in the photo, but I didn't have the energy at this point to mention that. She was difficult about my other comments and by this point I had admitted defeat and just wanted to finish it and leave.
My pedicure was unremarkable, but fair enough, I enjoyed the foot massage!
I honesty don't think I would come back, not at full price. This felt like a 30 dollar mani pedi.
I want to reiterate that the staff were all super nice. And the place is clean, but I would not go back to get my nails done.
