Went to look at a specific vehicle. I did not see it at all on the lot. I was greeted by a young lady. She had me fill out a credit app right away. I didn't have a co-signer and was looking for something under 10k. The manager then comes out and shakes my hand and tells me they have one SUV that I qualified for. It was a 2005 GMC Denali. 140,000 miles and a cracked windshield. I asked if there were any sedans available, I was told "no". I was also assured that if I wanted to qualify for a better car selection, I'd need a co-signer.
I called a woman who works in the car industry for years. She strongly suggests that if you are trying to rebuild your credit, go to the big chain dealerships... Liberty, Ganley, Motor Cars, etc. They have programs "special financing" for those who are trying to get a reliable car without the insane miles and who don't have the best credit.
Dealerships like this will just put you in cars that are on their last leg. I wanted to see what they had and was disappointed in how management specifically treats potential customers.
Bottom line, people need cars and may just take a chance with dealerships like these. Be careful.
