| - Loved this place. It was my dad's 60th birthday, so our man-party splurged for the four of us on the Compound package plus a couple of other guns that we hadn't shot before.
We felt extremely pampered with the Compound package. While it was expensive (around $3k for the four of us), we were given a wonderful and gorgeous hostess, Natasha, who I suppose felt like we were going to flirt with her a lot and therefore wasn't very talkative. She finally opened up to us at the end when she realized we didn't want to take her back to the hotel to sleep with. Natasha showed us into the private lounge area, which had some drinks (Red Bull and water) and some snacks, and some comfy leather couches near a big TV playing the Military channel. The decor was all guns and ammo, obviously.
After we signed our waivers saying we wouldn't kill anybody, we were taken to the "VIP Range," which was just an adjoining private range. Nothing terribly flashy, just set aside from the other lanes by a concrete barrier. Two range masters came in, and gave us the mandatory safety talk despite the four of us having extensive shooting experience. All the magazines came pre loaded, and the range masters would load and prep every weapon before handing it over to us and telling us how to use it. They repeated the operating instructions every time they handed off a weapon: professional? Yes. Annoying? Also yes.
The experience was wonderful. They have a great selection, including the M60 and M249 (the titular machine guns), and their rental prices for individual guns are not wildly expensive (though it is cheaper to go with one of their packages then rent solo guns).
The experience we had here was one of the highlights of our weekend trip, and will definitely revisit this place next time I'm back in Vegas.
