  • Meh. Checked in earlier in the afternoon one day and I guess check in wasn't scheduled until 3. I was able to get a room but my coworker wasn't. I went back up to the desk and asked politely so she could have a room. They gave her one. I don't know if it was a misunderstanding or what but that was the start of the experience. No hotel like this should make you wait for a room. Got to my room and it was filthy. Bed had stains on the sheets. Sink was full of someone's dried blood and hair from shaving. Table had dry food smeared all over it. But the bed was made, towels neatly folded, and had new soap in a package so housekeeping was in the room. Why they didn't clean the rest of it is beyond me. Oh, under the new soap was hair in the soap dish. More than one...and from more than one person. I got upgraded to a sweet room this time. Corner suite, more like an apt, with the works. Everything was great, except the bed sheets again. The tub also had some hair in it. These small things are inexcusable and I never get why hotels can't take care of this. I mean, I stayed at a Homewood Suites in St. Louis the week before and it was immaculate. Why can't the Palms in Las Vegas do the same? The valet insulted my coworker's height thinking the former driver of the car was taller. She wasn't pleased. Just something you should be trained not to say as someone in the hospitality industry. None of the employees of the hotel apologized for any of the hassle of the fact that there was someone else's dried bodily stuff in my sink. That's just a health hazard, and when I was washing my hands some water in the same sink as that stuff splashed on my shirt. Had to change my shirt. Gross. The decor in the hotel is ok but very dark. It's VERY dark in this hotel. You have to walk across the Sky Tube to get to the casino if you're staying at the other building. It's again, very blah. Walk down a hallway with a moving sidewalk and get to a small wall with an elevator painted the same color as the wall. Just weird...like they didn't think it out much. Definitely doesn't put it in the glamorous Vegas category with that aspect. The game room is kind of weak. Mainly slots but they do have $5 blackjack every day so that's nice. They have a few restaurants, one of which is Hooters, and a night club. It's ok. Nothing great. I hear they book good music though so maybe it has that going for it. This place would be ok if it were clean...bottom line. Could be better, could be worse. Hey, it's better than Circus Circus, but at least that place has specials for $35-50/night.
