I'm not sure what is going on with Gus' Cafe. I've been to Gus's a few times and I've experienced their salads and burgers in the past. They originally aimed for lots of gluten free/vegetarian/vegan options but also had a good tasting burger and possibly the best fries I've ever tasted. Then they joined forces with the Pgh Taco Truck and now, well, I think they're sticking with the smaller taco menu but no longer affiliated with the food truck. So the food menu has gone downhill and is pricey for what you get. I would not recommend Gus' for food at this point.
Drinks are a different story. They have a good draft selection and I feel like this is where they are (or should be) concentrating. Expect your Yuengling and PBR alongside some craftier brews helping to create a more dive bar atmosphere.
With hit or miss service and a number of other options in Lawrenceville for both food and drink, it's easy for me to understand why this place never seems busy. I've gone from being a fan to being on the fence to losing interest in what could have been a great food and craft beer destination.
