| - I've been here twice now- both times for breakfast/brunch on the weekend and enjoyed both of my experiences.
The first time I got the iced coffee (which you can get a free refill on!), blackberry scone, and the frittata and enjoyed everything. The person I was with got the butterscotch chip scone and the breakfast burger. Both of his looked and sounded amazing but were pretty disappointing- the butterscotch chip scone was too dry (the moisture from the berries in the blackberry one helped cut the dry-ness quite a bit) and I feel horrible saying this but the breakfast burger was just bad... the meat wasn't seasoned at all and it was overcooked- my friend ended up not eating any of it because it was so unappetizing.
On the other hand, the second time I went I got the hot coffee (also comes with a free refill), morning bun, and the chorizo scramble while the person I was with got the turkey omelette (on the special board) and the blackberry scone. The chorizo scramble was delicious (especially with the green poblano Cholula hot sauce). My friend really enjoyed his omelette and the raisin toast he got with it. The morning bun was really good but it'd be pretty hard to mess up bread coated with cinnamon and sugar (the outer crust kind of reminded me of a palmier cookie).
I love the upstairs dining areas because it feels very cozy and homey but it can get extremely loud depending on who is up there which can considerably distract from your dining experience so depending on the noise level, the downstairs area may be better. There are serving/condiment stations and bathrooms on both levels though which is super convenient.
I also really like how they have a wide variety of types of breads you can choose from for your toast and they also have delicious preserves on the side counter which I highly recommend trying. They have raspberry, strawberry?, and orange peel. At the downstairs condiment station they also have soy milk, 2%, cream, brown sugar, simple syrup, regular sugar, etc, etc so you really have access to everything you could want to add to your coffee which is really nice.
All in all the egg-based food and pastries I've had there are very solid and the staff there is friendly even though their constantly swamped.
