I used to come here very frequently because it was between where I lived and CMU's campus. The food is good for the price, and you can add a (huge) side salad to anything for not very much money, making macaroni and cheese + salad a great deal for lunch or dinner. I'm also fond of some of their sandwiches, particularly the chicken breast, which has brie and jam.
I don't drink coffee, so I can't comment on that, but they do have a very big selection of non-coffee drinks (which are substantially better than the Starbucks across the street). My favorite is the almond french soda, which is soda water and half and half with a shot of almond syrup all over ice.
The interior is quite eclectic and worn, but it has character. Downstairs is usually much more climate controlled than upstairs, but all the comfortable chairs are upstairs.
