| - Been wanting to try this place after reading all the good press. Maybe we ordered unwisely, but I just didn't love it as much as I wanted to.
- Hana salad- baby greens were slightly tough, topped with a nice lemony dressing and shaved parm and some slice avo. Tasty? Sure, but not what you expect at a Japanese eatery.
- Nimono- roasted root veggies were my fave with a slightly sweet soy flavor, yum!
- Hana pride roll- $20- yikes! This is not a traditional roll, no rice, so be prepared. The fish was fresh, but the cucumber wrapper was thick and a bit tough. Fine, just not my style.
- Sukiyaki- this was pretty tasty, with mushrooms, thinly sliced beef, big cubes of tofu, and a really fab soy sake broth that tastes nothing like miso soup. We took our server's sage advice and added noodles, too.
Service was great, food was A-OK. Though I wouldn't make the trek from home, I'd def return if in that neighborhood to try out a few more items on the menu- for sure more of the sushi options.
