  • Breakaway Excursions is more than just kayak rentals. Doug and Pam are both extremely knowledgeable and professional and their equipment is the best I have seen at any livery. They provide quality kayaks and paddling-specific pfds to make sure you are comfortable for the whole ride. Doug is right there to provide instruction for beginners and hints and tips for those with more experience. And they put on many special events such as paddling to an island for a catered breakfast, a river paddle followed by a bonfire on the river bank with appetizers, mother and father's day paddles, summer solstice paddle, and more. They work hard to maintain the portion of the Cuyahoga River they use and keep it clear of obstructions, trash and debris, so you can enjoy a relaxing and scenic float. Registering for an event and paying is easy on their web site and you will receive reminders close to the date. And, like I said, they are more than just kayak rentals. They offer bicycle rentals, archery instruction, snow shoe excursions, and have set up a store equipment and supplies. Breakaway is an excellent all-around recreational provider. I guarantee Doug and Pam will make sure you are safe and have a good time.
