I made an appointment for a glucose test (this is a 2 hour test) for a Saturday so it would not interfere with my Mon-Fri 9-5 schedule. I went to their website and selected routine testing (how am I to know this is not accurate).
I arrived for my 1:15pm appointment at a little before 1:00pm. When I was called up to the front and I showed the woman my paperwork it was about 1:10pm. She said "This is a 2 hour test." I responded with "OK" at which point she informed me that their lab closes at 3:00pm and I wouldn't be able to get my test done.
She asked why I didn't come earlier! I was beside myself!! I told her that was the earliest they had available on the website when I made the appointment. She said that I selected the wrong test that this is not considered routine (again, how am I supposed to know this).
She asked some of the staff to see if they would still be able to help me but 2 different people said no. I couldn't believe that I was being turned away because of 10 minutes. Not only that but she told me to drive to the location near Flamingo and Eastern which is another 20 minutes away.
I was 7 months pregnant and you are not allowed to eat anything for 14 hours before the test, I don't know how many people can relate but this was excruciating. I was in tears leaving their lab to drive to the other side of Las Vegas where they completed my test.
Since then I have called the 800 number to file a complaint, the woman said that someone would get back to me within 24-48 hours. A week went by and I still had not heard anything. I called again and they connected me with a manager who again took my information and said that he would pass it on to the manager of this location. That was last Thursday 2/26. I still have not heard anything.
I'm so hurt and sad that this seems to be OK treatment. I understand that people want to go home when they are done but I would've really appreciated a little compassion regardless of being pregnant or not.
