| - My husband and I visited the Brickworks for the first time on Saturday and we loved it!! I'm a big fan of markets to begin with (so this review could be biased), but the space, the food and the vibe made this place extra special! We came all the way from Mississauga so it was quite the trek, so Brickworks won't be a weekly thing, but come summer, we'd gladly make the trip again!
Our initial purpose for coming was to attend Sample Day for the Toronto Underground Market (coming April 7th - pretty excited about this too!). We came to introduce our "nacho average snack" chips and just to check it out! Upon walking in to the main building, you are immediately hit with sensory overload! A lot is happening but I like chaotic, so it was love at first sight (and later on - bite)! I''m all for local, organic and homemade and this market featured all of that and more!
My favourite part -- The Food: They had artisanal cheese, fresh made (hand-tossed) fries, venison kebabs, an assortment of vegan, g-free baked goods (BIG YAY), fresh fried beignets (what!), crepes (sweet + savoury) and corn tortillas filled to the overflow - just to name a few. They also had potato pancakes frying in a skillet pan over an open fire!
We weren't properly attired to walk around so next time I plan on walking the trails! Summer can't come fast enough!
Brickworks - We'll be BACK!
