| - I wrote my original review in March 2013, which was nearly 3 years ago. I had gone with my friend at the time, who is now my husband, to seek out some answers to some questions he had about bankruptcy. As stated in my original review, my husband had decided during our appointment and prior to meeting with Deluca that bankruptcy wasn't right for him, and so we left prior to ever meeting with Deluca. There was nothing that the attorney or his staff themselves did to make my husband change his mind; we had simply talked about it prior to the meeting and came to the decision together. However, when we walked out to the lobby to inform the receptionist, we received extremely horrible customer service. The poor customer service that we received was the sole reason for my review.
Mind you, I wrote the original review nearly 3 years ago. Then, 2 years ago, Anthony Deluca publicly commented on my original review: "I am glad that we were able to provide you with sufficient information to decide that bankruptcy was not the right option for your friend. I'm sorry you do not feel that you received proper consideration from one of the employees. Although we certainly have no drug addicts in suits working at DeLuca & Associates, the woman I think you may be referring to is no longer employed by the firm."
In my eyes, based on his response, it was done, over, and the situation was rectified. Would we ever go to him again? No, but that doesn't mean others wouldn't. As a potential client, I would value a business that rectifies a situation when a client states they were unhappy with the service they received. But I was wrong when I thought it was done and rectified.
Mr. Deluca has since removed that public comment of his that assured the issue was resolved, and since late July 2015, has sent multiple threatening messages to me through Yelp. The first message, dated 07/21/15, states that I had 10 days to remove my review or else I would be sued for slandering and harming his business. It also stated that CRIMINAL charges will be brought against me, and I will be held liable for monetary damages and have my wages garnished. Another message stated that I am being sued. It went on to say, "You will pay a substantial amount in attorney's fees and costs. The costs will then be too high for me to even allow you to remove the post without a monetary settlement to cover those costs which will easily be in excess of $5,000.00 plus damages in excess of $10,000.00. Your review on Yelp is not worth the cost."
I was a complete mess when I read these messages. I considered deleting my review, as others have done due to the same circumstances ( http://www.ktnv.com/news/contact-13/online-reviews-could-get-you-in-big-trouble ), but eventually I decided not to because I did nothing wrong. There is no slander in my previous review, nor my current review, nor any of the many other reviews I have posted. I will not allow him to intimidate me in order to silence me. The public deserves to know what Anthony Deluca is doing. He should be ashamed of himself!
Honestly, this situation was rectified in 2014 when Mr.Deluca wrote the original comment stating that the employee was no longer with the law firm. However, like I stated previously, he deleted that comment from the public eye. How can he say that my old review from 3 years ago is harming his business, but yet, he is actively harming his business by removing a comment from the public eye to show that a bad situation was rectified?
He has since replaced his public comment with a new, slanderous comment today, 11/21/15, stating, "In assessing the credibility of this review, you may want to consider the intelligence of someone who refers to another person as a dirty, crack addict as part of their review. Sadly, it is Yelp reviewers like this that affect the credibility of all reviewers." Mr. Deluca, my statements in all reviews have been purely based on accurate fact or honest opinion and nothing else. If you don't want your potential clients to feel that one of your employees reminded them of a drug addict, then don't hire people that act like drug addicts. There is no slander to that statement. I honestly and truly felt that she appeared and acted like one. I am entitled to that opinion. No where did I state that she was a crack addict, as I do not know her personally. All I know is what I witnessed that day at your law firm, and what I am continuing to witness through your harassment since July 2015. I WILL NOT be removing my review, and I encourage others who have left honest reviews like myself to not remove theirs either.
Mr. Deluca, I would have been happy to provide you a 5 star review if I had received a 5 star experience. I unfortunately did not and am updating my review once again, because after 3 years, you are continuing to provide a 1 star experience.
***UPDATE: As of 2/19/16, the courts ordered a dismissal of this case.
