| - My daughter is 14 and was excited for her first dance. She wanted to get her hair done and she found Hair "Experts". The pictures they boast are encouraging and the reviews weren't all bad so it seemed like a good choice. My daughter wanted a balayage and a trim. The appointment took almost 5 hours. My daughter immediately disliked it but 1. Didn't know what to say and 2. Didn't want to be there any longer. My mother was with her at the appointment, or I would have said something. When she got home I was a bit stunned, my 14 year old looked like she had the hair of a 75 year old. It looked ashy and almost gray in areas. The next day she went to school. While I am well aware that kids can be mean, it's very different when even your best friends and teachers are making fun. She came home even more broken hearted, set that she would no longer be attending her school dance.
Unfortunately, my daughters dye job wasn't the only cruddy part of the Hair Experts experience. My mother called them to ask them about fixing it. She was told that it would cost another X amount. When she said that wasn't acceptable and asked why they didn't stand by their work, they hung up on her twice. On a third call she got a different person who told her to bring my daughter in. My mother took my daughter back in and J.C., who had not been the original stylist, was very nice. He returned her hair to its original color and put a smile back on her face. JC is what kept this from being a zero star review. The manager was there and told him not to blow dry her hair without charging her again. And the color fix, while discounted, wasn't free.
I work very hard in my line of work, I treat people with respect and do my best to make clients experience with me a good and memorable one, knowing they will share that with others. It's strange to think that this business is ok with having a person walking around as a billboard advertising cruddy work. Here you have a school full of kids and teachers and you could span your clientele into that pool and their friends and family, but instead you make the experience even less enticing. So now not only have they seen the poor work, they get to hear about how you don't stand behind it. Very disappointing experience.
