| - I tried to like this place, I really did. I moved from Seattle to Las Vegas in June 2008 and held off as long as I could to get my hair cut just because I was so distraught at the thought of someone other than my fav Gene Juarez artist touching my hair. I did a google.com search for salons that sold Kerastase products and was pleased to find that Moxie was voted "#1 in Las Vegas" and boasted of celebrity stylists on staff (all of which was advertised on their website). I was sold. I booked an appointment and was scheduled to have Christopher trim my tresses. I'll admit he did a good job with the cut itself--I asked him to cut as much damage off of my lower-back-length hair while keeping the length, and I got a really great long-layered cut. It was the professionalism that was missing, though. He reeked of alcohol and mentioned his previous night of partying. I left the salon saying to myself, "wow, I would totally go back to this place if he didn't smell like beer!" Okay, so I held off for MONTHS again for another cut, then finally made an appointment. I remembered how great my hair felt after Christopher cut my hair last--so I gave in and booked with him again. I arrived the day of--it was an 11am appointment. The receptionist gave me a really stunned look as I gave her my name and said I was checking in--"you didn't know?" I was like, "didn't know what?" She said they tried to call my number but it was WRONG--Christopher woke up late and wouldn't be in until later. She offered to have another stylist cut my hair, which at that point I was just ready to have done. No apologies from the receptionist, just pretty much blaming me for having a wrong number on file, which I had her read back to me and happened to be my same phone number. The gal that cut my hair did well, but she was drinking coffee while cutting and took about two 5 minute breaks not letting me know how long she would be gone or what she was doing. My point is that the way they advertise this place, it is supposed to be some cool LA type chic place, but the professionalism of the staff makes them no better than the local Supercuts. I thought of that show Tabatha's Salon Takeover on Bravo, and how Moxie could probably benefit from even a touch of her professionalism.
