I'll be honest I've haven't been hiking in awhile and I'm not an avid hiker. But I've heard nothing but great things about the Mary Jane falls. It is around an hour to an hour and a half each way depending on how many breaks you take. At first the trail is pretty easy but once you reach the switch backs, it's all incline from there. I found the hike to be a little intense. But the views from up there are amazingly breathtaking!!
It's about 20-30 degrees cooler than the city weather. We went around 12:30 pm and it was a perfect time to go.
We ran into a guy who was visiting from London and his wife stopped him and wouldn't let him continue up because she thought the hike would be too intense for him. Poor guy!
I would just be careful of course, baby steps! I had to take a few breaks.
But once you get up there, the views are pretty amazing and there are two caves up there you can explore.
This hike is also great for energetic dogs!
Bring lots of sunscreen, water bottles and a backpack.
Overall great experience, glad I accomplished it.
