| - Straight and to the point, anyone up for that? You've read enough reviews to know just to skim for keywords like... crappy, hate, slow, slummy, gross, annoying, and possibly phrases like "NEVER GO THERE AGAIN" or "IT WAS HORRIBLE"......
By the way, this place was nice - post renovation, I've never been there before that - kind of small, but I'd hang in there. The guy behind the counter was really kind about answering all my espresso craziness questions. Us espresso crazy people always have lots of questions to ask to make sure whoever the barista is, knows what he/she is doing. He did pass the test, and to go even further he offered - and I accepted - to pull me a shot of their house blend espresso. Black Cat espresso is something I enjoy at home and at other places like Manic, so I was interested and it was great that he offered it on the house. He even went as far as to sink his first attempt at the shot knowing that I was going to totally be critical of the profile of his shot. It was a nice shot from a really nice Synesso machine. I have no complaints... I'll go back. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's the best...Manic is a better place and more central. Even the Dark Horse is more central now with their Spadina location and it's, at the very least, similar.
Go there if you live in the area.
