As far as airports go Charlotte Douglas is ok. Once inside, the terminals are easy to get to and there are enough food/concessions to keep a traveler either well fed or well watered down depending on how bored you are on your trip. As with most airports you are going to have to deal with the usury pricing that goes along with air travel, either the radiation from the TSA scans or being flat out felt up but I digress. '
The overall layout of the airport is decent but you for sure get the feeling that it is suffering from a bit of sprawl. That is, long term parking isn't very intuitive to get to and with the hodgepodge of parking decks they have thrown up it makes it a little confusing to navigate to and from the main entrance. If you can have someone pick you up or drop you off that would be highly recommended. Also, as far as the picking up part goes, you had better have your door open and the passenger needs to be ready to jump in your car on the fly because they have rent a cops ushering people on even if you look like you might linger one second too long. With the aforementioned sprawl, I can totally see how this is necessary but it still is a pain in the ass.
