| - Not great. I showed up slightly before opening time and waited outside, so I was first in line and was seen promptly. That was the positive part of my experience.
I was there to consult the doctor for a purely medical issue--a skin lesion on my upper thigh that I needed diagnosed. No one gave me anything to change into or even a small sheet to cover myself with, so I waited, assuming the doctor would consult with me first and ask me to undress later, as happens in many medical offices.
But when Dr Singh came in, he seemed very annoyed that I did not immediately want to just pull my pants down in front of him. This creeped me out. In a huff, he then left me alone to undress, but there was still no paper or gown or sheet or anything else to cover myself with. I was very uncomfortable.
When he returned, he hardly glanced at the lesion, dismissing it as harmless (despite its notably awful appearance). I doubted his diagnostic skill.
He did manage to find time--much more time than he spent on my actual medical issue--trying to persuade me to buy an expensive cosmetic cream, even though he said he wasn't sure it would work on "someone like you." I don't know what he meant, but I guess the allusion was to the color of my skin. Needless to say, I didn't buy the cream.
I would never go here again. Since my visit to AvantDerm, I've been to the new dermatology clinic at Women's College Hospital, which is a true medical center, not a cosmetic clinic. Highly recommended for those of you who have non-cosmetic dermatological problems you need help with.
