| - One of my favourite beer festivals for a few reasons:
-Low cost to entry ($20 tickets are half the price of what you'll pay for the Toronto Festival of Beer, Cask Days, or any of the craft beer boat cruises during summer)
-100% craft beer focus (as a beer enthusiast who likes to support locals and not the big brands, this is the best spot to do so)
-Lots of new brands to try (this year alone allowed exposure to newer brewers like High Park, Brock Street, Brimstone, Smithavens, Walkerville, Barnstomer, and other up and coming names that are hard to find in local bars and not available in LCBOs)
-$1 samples, and quality glass mugs to drink from and keep
-Good food vendors
Weather this year was rainy when I went, and aside from ducking into Steamwhistles brewery, there aren't a lot of weather protecting shelters, but bring a poncho and drink to your days contentment.
One other thing I'll mention is that this seemed a little more relaxed than other beer festivals I've gone to. There were never overly long lines at any of the booths, people were patient and respectful while waiting, and the grassy hill along the east side provided some great chilling area (although in the rain, this is where you'll have to sit on your poncho).
Good times, looking forward to next year!
