Like a previous poster, we have been trying to get an Outback. Subaru Calgary said they could get us one in December, so we deposited $2000 in November. They said the car would arrive in December. In December they said that they had sold it to someone else. In early January and no car we asked for our deposit back. After weeks of back and forth they can't get us a car or evidence of a car with a firm arrival date. So after an additional 4 weeks of effort Subaru Calgary won't refund our deposit. Every time is a different story. Now they claim there was no written expiry date on the deposit (there WAS no written contract on the deposit, and they know that. Who draws up a written contract on a deposit?). They seem to think they can keep the deposit forever. Be very careful before putting any money down.
