  • Let me start by saying that I am very pleased with the way my hair looks when I leave Folicle. I was very nervous about going to a new salon when I moved to the Charlotte area, and Angie does a great job - there is virtually no difference in my color even though it is a different product line than my former stylist used. She is responsive to any nuance I ask for and I would recommend her work to anyone. Any downgrade in my review is for the culture of the salon itself - it's quite odd and hard to explain, but after multiple visits I still get the vibe that their approach is that I am lucky to be allowed to make an appointment with them, not that they are fortunate to have me (or anyone) as a patron. My first few visits, "mistakes" on my part about not knowing to go into the closet to get a tunic, or that there is a different place to sit to get my color vs when I get styled were treated with a rather condescending correction. The online booking system is kind of crazy - if I want to go in for a regular monthly visit to get my hair colored, I have to separately book a 15 minute time slot for "pre-treatment", then book the coloring (from a long list of internal lingo), THEN, one must be sure to book the blow dry/styling afterwards ( I made the mistake of not doing that the first time I booked an appt and they had to fit me in to dry my hair after they washed out the color!). And, if the time slots don't all match up, cancel what you have booked and start all over. This is frustrating - I book my personal appointments on my down time (evenings and weekends) and it is frustrating to have to wait until business hours to call and work it out. I did bring my concerns in person on a couple of visits and just got a rather sympathetic but dismissive remark about "understanding their system" and an admission that "everyone says that". So, I can only assume that instead of making it more user friendly, the owner has chosen to. . .not. I will continue to go back because I get a great result, but it is tough to hand over the serious prices they charge when I feel if I left and didn't come back, they really wouldn't care.
