Thank you to the staff and Dr. Gray for making a tough time a little easier. We had to send my baby girl to the Rainbow Bridge today. We called the hospital before we left home to let them know we were coming and we were greeted by a nurse the moment we walked in the door and were taken to a private room. Reception, the nurses and Dr. Gray were all amazing. The first nurse who greeted us in the lobby was amazing! I wish I got her name but I was to distraught. She greeted us with a warm welcoming smile and talked to my baby as if she was one of her own. She confirmed what we said over the phone and then presented us with the different choices we had so we could bring our puppy home. Dr. Gray then came in and gave her condolences and let us know what was going to happen and she made sure to let us know this was all going to happen when we were ready. She took my baby dog back to have the IV put in and another nurse brought her back to us with a nice thick warm comfy white blanket for her to lay on. She then told us to take as much time as we needed and to let them know when we were ready. A Little later my husband went and told reception that we were ready. Dr. Gray returned with the Medicine and let us know what she was going to do. She got on the floor with us and told us she was going to give a Saline solution, followed by a Medicine to help her relax; which was then followed by more saline before the final medication. Dr. Gray was so patient and basically said "I will not do anything until I'm given the nod to do so" she was so respectful and amazing. We gave the "Nod" and Dr. Gray administered the final dose. My husband, my mother and I were all petting and loving on Chanel. Dr. Gray then took her stethoscope and listened for a heartbeat. She didn't find one, she shook her head saying "yes" indicating my baby was on her way to the Rainbow bridge. I then became hysterical because she was my daughter. I've had her since she was 3 months old, today should was 13 years old. Dr. Gray told us to take all the time we needed and we could leave whenever we wanted. She said she would leave us be except for the occasional pop in. When she saw we weren't there she will do what she has to and will call us when it's time to bring Chanel home again. Green Valley Animal Hospital; Thank you so much for taking care of my girl.
